FRANKLIN COUNTY CATTLEMEN’S ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP

Each initial scholarship recipient.
Applications are now available in the high school counselor’s office or with your FFA instructor, 4H leader or can be requested by mail from Cindy Hayes at the address listed below for the Franklin County Cattlemen’s Association Scholarship. One $3,000.00 scholarship will be awarded annually. Based on the number of qualified applicants the possibility of a 2nd and/or 3rd scholarship may be awarded.
To be eligible for the scholarship you must be a graduating senior with a Franklin County, Washington address/residence and planning a career that will directly benefit the Ag Industry. Educational goals may include accredited college as well as a technical/vocational trade school. Past recipients have continued their education to gain careers in veterinary medicine, education, agri-business, agricultural law, farming, cattle ranching, rangeland management, physical/equine therapy, Ag public relations and industries that support the agricultural community. An additional scholarship, in memory of Cindy Lancaster, has been established for individuals that pursue an Educational Degree.
Your application must include:
- Official High School transcript
- Letter of recommendation (preferably by someone in the beef or Ag industry)
- Resume
- Letter stating plans for your education, schools you plan to attend, and your intended career path and how it will positively affect the agricultural community *
- Proof of enrollment from the College of your choice
*We require a 200 word essay on how your future plans will enhance or be enhanced by the Beef Industry and request you present your essay at a Franklin County Cattlemen’s meeting. (Arrangements based on schedules).
Please turn your completed application in to the FFA or Senior advisor at your school or mail your application, letter, and essay to Cindy Hayes, FCC Scholarship, 41 N Baart Rd., Mesa, WA 99343. The applications will be judged by members of the Ag industry and members of the Franklin County Cattlemen’s Association.

All recipients of the Franklin County Cattlemen’s Scholarship that are in the course of study in which they received their scholarship is eligible to request a 2nd, 3rd and 4th year Continuing Education Scholarship. To request this scholarship a letter of request including a brief statement of how your college experience thus far is preparing you to pursue your initial goal/career path and a copy showing current enrollment in an Ag related field is required.
