PLC ALONG WITH OTHER GROUPS MOVE TO DEFEND GRAY WOLF DELISTING!
This week PLC was joined by a coalition of agriculture groups in moving to intervene in a series of court cases that challenge the delisting of the gray wolf under the Endangered Species Act. PLC has spent years working to delist the recovered gray wolf populations. The coalition, comprised of PLC, the American Farm Bureau Federation, the American Forest Resource Council, the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, and the American Sheep Industry Association, all spoke to their members’ interest in defending the delisting rule and ensuring gray wolves are managed by the states.
Cattle producer Joe Wiebski says, “In addition to the outright killing and maiming of calves, gray wolves have a stressing effect on my remaining cattle that reduces their economic viability.” Joe lost 26 calves to the growing wolf packs this year alone.
